SUN // SET is a monthly DJ session at EnergieKas to share music, experiment, learn from each other and to come together. For DJs, SUN // SET offers a low-pressure space to play, experiment and develop their sound in front of a real audience. Whether you're just starting out or already have experience, you can try new tracks, test different styles and gain confidence behind the decks.

For visitors, it’s a chance to discover new sounds in a relaxed, open setting. Come listen, have a drink at our rooftopbar, bring your friends and enjoy the sunset while the music slowly builds into the evening and end the night with an early boogie. Open to all.

The atmosphere is open, low-key and welcoming, for both DJs and listeners. No barriers, just music and community.

Klimaatweek x StadsLab: The Climate-resilient City

Pop Session: presentations & workshop (EN)

Are you a dreamer, designer, resident or entrepreneur who believes the city can be more sustainable — and more fun? During The Hague Climate Week, we’ll explore how the Pop District in the city centre can develop into a living lab for the climate transition. Join us, get inspired and share your vision!

Cities need to adapt to a changing climate. The municipality is developing a new vision for public space, while the Pop District is positioning itself as a living lab for the city of tomorrow. Plenty of reasons to put our imagination to work!

In the Pop District, music, culture, businesses, residents and visitors come together right in the heart of the city. This makes it an ideal testing ground for new solutions, new collaborations and discovering what works in practice. Can a water retention basin become a swimming pond, a façade become a forest, and a public square become a heat buffer?

In the City Lab, we bring different people and organisations together to share ideas, inspiring examples and concrete experiments. Our goal: to make the Pop District a visible example of how culture and sustainability can reinforce each other.

About EnergieKas & StadsLab (CityLab)

Energiekas is a cultural test-site that offers space for imagination, experimentation, and encounters at the intersection of art, climate, and science. A place to explore new ways of seeing, growing, creating, building, and living together. EnergieKas is a non-profit, bottom-up and hands-on project.

At our brand new StadsLab we reimagine the existing city. How do we design regenerative, climate-adaptive and just ways of living together, from street to region and from civic initiative to institutional policy? StadsLab is a collaboration between EnergieKas and Popdistrict.

About Popdistrict & Pop Sessions

Popdistrict is a 25,000 m² cultural institution with a tramline running straight through its centre. The district’s public space connects dozens of locations housing creative entrepreneurs and cultural organisations, while also providing a stage for numerous music festivals, including Sniester, Grauzone, and Rewire.

During Pop Sessions, we come together to explore the questions that concern us. One of these questions is how we collectively organise space in our city. Who has access? Who decides? What collective models can we apply? And who holds the power?

Each Pop Session consists of a lecture, conversation, and short workshop. Afterwards, there will be space to continue the discussion informally.

Klimaatweek x RotClub: Making breadso

Beginner friendly workshop (EN/NL)

18:30 - 20:00

Big flavour usually comes with a big footprint: aged cheese, cured meat, stock simmered for hours. For Klimaatweek, we're creating big flavours in a smaller way, from bread, salt and a mould.

Breadso is miso made from bread: deep and savoury. Legend has it it tastes like bread&anchovies in one. Stir it into butter, rub it on roast veg or whisk it into a dressing.

We start by tasting a batch that's had six months to mature. Then we make it together and you take your own jar home. It'll be ready in spring!

Hosted by Flo, who runs Flo Bakestudio and works as a data analyst the rest of the week, and Adam, food technologist and co-owner of Epicurieus bakery.

€15 covers the ingredients and your spot, and lets someone else join for €10. If €15 is too much, pay €10. No explanation necessary. Exra donations for EnergieKas welcom!
