Come (on up) and make poetry on the roof!

Think candles, tea, beer, wine, and lots of paper. We’ll write poetry, together and on our own, guided by a shared theme, in a place where the gaze stretches far, and thoughts even further..

Do you think you could never write a poem? 

Have you been doing it for years? 

Do you actually have no idea what a poem even is? 

All three apply to us too, and that doesn’t stop us. Give it a try, or share what you’ve been doing for years. Put a few words on paper, and you might suddenly find yourself reading them aloud by the end of the evening!

ALL LANGUAGES WELCOME!

Language is no barrier, as far as we’re concerned (and we are). Poetry makes its own language, one that cares little for borders or rationality.

BAKING BREAD: FOCACCIA EVENING - beginner friendly

RotClub: open fermentation session (EN/NL)

Less course, more kitchen-table: let's make sourdough focaccia together! The good kind, with lots of olive oil and salt. We make the dough together and talk over the details that make or break it: hydration, the dimpling, knowing when it's properly proved. Then we eat a warm one straight out of the oven and you take your own dough home to bake off the next day.

Two evenings, pick the one that fits you:

* Wednesday 29 July - for first-timers, with Flo

* Tuesday 25 August - for those who already bake, with Stefano and Flo

Hosted by Flo from Flo Bakestudio, baker, pastry chef, and data analyst the rest of the week, so she can tell you exactly where your focaccia went wrong and why. For August she's joined by Stefano of PanePane in Voorburg, who lectures and researches sustainability at Leiden University and, being Italian, has been speaking the language of focaccia since birth.

Regenerative flour from Graanbroeders + all other ingredients included, plus plenty of tasting & talking. Just bring tupperware for your dough.

SUN // SET is a monthly DJ session at EnergieKas to share music, experiment, learn from each other and to come together.

For DJs, SUN // SET offers a low-pressure space to play, experiment and develop their sound in front of a real audience. Whether you're just starting out or already have experience, you can try new tracks, test different styles and gain confidence behind the decks.

For visitors, it’s a chance to discover new sounds in a relaxed, open setting. Come listen, have a drink at our rooftopbar, bring your friends and enjoy the sunset while the music slowly builds into the evening and end the night with an early boogie. The atmosphere is open, low-key and welcoming, for both DJs and listeners. No barriers, just music and community. Open to all.

Exploring Eco-emotions 

Workshop

Anxious, angry, or hopeful about the state of our planet? What to do with those feelings?

Eco-emotions are real, from anxiety to frustration to inspiration. We will explore why your eco-emotions matter and what they can tell you about your relationship with the people and environment around you. You will identify and name your feelings and be given the space to discuss your emotions with others (if you feel like it) in a local context, and discover ways to deal with these emotions and build resilience.

The workshop is hosted by Ian, a local resident of The Hague who is active in the space of food, renewable energy, circular economy and rewilding and inspired by the Youth Environment Europe Yeghvard workshop he participated in back in May 2026.

What to expect: a short introduction to eco-emotions, time with the Climate Emotions Wheel, a guided discussion circle, and practical coping strategies.

If you can, bring something to drink or a snack to share (at least vegetarian). 

Open to all, no prior knowledge needed. Spots are limited.

This event is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. Every contribution helps to keep EnergieKas an open place for experimentation, community and learning.
